Sarah is a creative problem solver, thoughtfully combining visual and experiential aesthetics with effective communication. She comes to Security Signs with extensive experience in environmental graphics, signage and wayfinding, exhibit design, branding, web and print projects for mixed-use, retail, commercial, hospitality, civic and educational clients.
She enjoys the challenges that comes with balancing creative conceptualization and development with hyper-analytical signage programming and construction documentation. Most importantly, Sarah loves collaborating with many inspiring colleagues, clients, architects, artists, makers and doers!
Born and raised in Texas, Sarah was always an artistic and resourceful kid. She attended a performing and visual arts high school, where she explored the studio arts: drawing, 2D and 3D design, painting, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, photography, jewelry, graphic design, electronic media and art history. Attending college in the North East, she began her studies with her love of art history, then contemplated the classical philosophers and finally threw in some mythology.
The next handful of years, Sarah traveled between the US, Canada and Japan, all the while focusing on floral design, landscaping, event planning and decor. In a two-year design program, she further developed her skill set training in graphic design, interior design, architecture and industrial design. Working with a multi-disciplinary firm in Vancouver BC, her training and experience were put into full effect and honed over half a decade. She now brings her enthusiasm for experiential graphic design to the Security Signs team!
Sarah is a member and Portland chapter volunteer for the SEGD.
